Western Canada’s Mustang Survival, a leader in boating safety and well known for it’s innovative solutions in PFDs and survival equipment has turned its attention to the frontlines – this time, on land.
In a recent Facebook Post, Mustang reported:
Responding to the global pandemic—and seeking a way we could leverage 50+ years of engineering experience and technical fabric insight—our team has spent the past two weeks working closely with the local healthcare sector to rapid prototype and test a safety-certified isolation gown for frontline healthcare workers.
Our facility in Burnaby, BC [is now conducting] the first pilot run of the production of the first 200 Level 3 Isolation Gowns.

From the initial 200 gowns going into pilot-production today, we’ll take out 10 samples to share with other local manufacturers who are getting prepared to set up production. And, if all goes well in this first pilot run, we’ll be flipping the entire factory to focus on making these gowns, full time.
Beyond getting local manufacturers on board, we’re encouraging manufacturers with sewing and seam sealing capacity to jump on board; we’re planning on releasing the technical specifications so communities around the world can provide a local solution to this global crisis.
