With their low battery draw, cooler operation and sturdy construction, LED lights have become very popular with recreational boaters.
However, these same lights may also be causing poor VHF radio and Automatic Identification System (AIS) reception, according to a Marine Safety Alert recently issued by the U.S. Coast Guard.

Harbour West Marina has acquired a new lift for recreational boats, capable of handling vessels up to 80 tons.
According to their website, the Marina decided to replace the 50-ton capacity lift to the new 80-ton lift when the lighter lift was ready to be replaced. Marine lifts are used to launch and haul power and sailboats into or out of the water.
